- Here are some ways to be better prepared when the runoff starts.
- Remove snow 3’ - 5’ from around your home.
- Please also clear the snow around your fire hydrant and from any meters.
- In the event you have runoff water, place sandbags in CLEARED area to divert the flow.
- Do not Place sandbags too early as exposing them to the elements can make them INEFFECTIVE during active flooding.
- Check sump pumps frequently and make a plan in case of power outages.
- Consider purchasing a sump pump, if you do not have one and think you may need one. The sooner the better.
- Direct your questions on your local Emergency Management plan and protocols to your incorporated township, city office, or Weber County.
- Please, observe your nearby rivers and streams, and if you notice any blockages or ice dams notify your city offices or Weber County.
- If there is ACTIVE flooding in your location, call 801-395-8221. If there is a life safety emergency dial 9.1.1.
